Sluiskiltunnel

The Sluiskiltunnel crosses the Canal from Ghent to Terneuzen and is located on the route of the N62. Every day, on average, more than 17,000 vehicles use the tunnel with a length of 1.3 kilometers. Before the tunnel was built, all this traffic had to cross the existing bridge over the Ghent-Terneuzen canal. Since the Ghent-Terneuzen canal is also a very busy canal, it was decided to create a tunnel here, in this case a bored tunnel.
